WELCOME TO THE

OASIS CHURCH OF CHRIST

In the book of Isaiah God refers to literal Babylon as “the desert of the sea.” A desert can’t sustain life. And the sea cannot quench your thirst. It’s like “water, water, everywhere, but not a drop to drink.”

Babylon at times can be symbolic in Scripture as the world, evil, Satan. Jesus is our Creator, Redeemer, our Oasis. And both Jesus and the world offers us water to quench our thirst. Jesus offers streams of living water and the world offers the sea, full of salt, always leaving people thirsty and never satisfied.

We decided our name should reflect our mission in life, to be a people who lead those who are thirsty to the living streams of water, Jesus Christ.

Let anyone who is thirsty come to me, and let the one who believes  In Me drink.”   As the Scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37-38).

As you enter our foyer you will soon have a good idea about who we are and what is most important to us:

‘Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?’ He said to him, ‘ “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.(Matthew 22:36-40)
